BY558 £275.00 Stock Status: In Stock Add to your Wish List Description A nice scarce British Victorian unit marked P1888 Lee-Metford Mk1 2nd type bayonet, unit marked to the 4th Battn Loyal North Lancashire regt, the nice double edged blade is 300mm(11 3/4"), marked on one side at the ricasso with WD arrow, bend test and Enfield inspection mark, the other side has the crown over VR with the first issue date mark for Dec 1890 and two more re-issue marks for 1895 and 1904 along with the Birmingham inspection marks, two Enfield inspection marks on the short spine, the spring catch is working, it is complete with it's original leather scabbard with two steel mounts, not matching numbered, the back of the leather is marked with the WD arrow, Birmingham inspection mark and the date mark looks like 1995, the stitching is good on the scabbard, the steelwork has a nice un-touched dark age patina overall with no pitting, the general condition is excellent.
