A British Victorian P1827 Royal Navy Officer's fighting sword, larger early type with quill point, the blade is 783mm(30 3/4"), gilt brass Gothic hilt with VR Crown and anchor, lions head pommel, lwhite fish skin covered grip with wire bindings, sprung folding rear guard, the hilt retains most of it's original gilt finish with the usual wear on the high points, the rear folding guard looks like it has been replaced at some time it is slightly small, the fish skin and wires are good, the hilt is tight on the blade with no wobbles or rattles, the blade is clean with some wear and small patches of speckling, it is 935mm(36 3/4") overall, the general condition is very good. No Scabbard.
