A British WW1 period P1897 India service Infantry Officer's sword, by Wilkinson Sword London, numbered and dated 1918, the blade is 820mm(32 1/4"), marked along the spine London Made with Wilkinsons number, the ricasso has the brass prooved mark on one side and the Wilkinson makers name on the other side which also has the India WD arrow and the date mark for 1918, the steel guard has the India service Royal Cypher, grey fish skin covered grip with silver wire bindings, it is complete with it's original dent free steel scabbard with nickel throat piece, the blade has some wear and light speckling overall, same with the hilt steelwork, the surface detail on the Royal crown is well worn, the scabbard has a nice dark age patina overall. the general condition is very good.
