A Scarce British WW2 Wilkinson No1 Mk1 (P1907) Lanchester SMG bayonet, dated 1944/43, the Lanchester was issued to the Royal Navy and the RAF during WW2, and was only produced by Wilkinson, the clean blade is 435mm(17") with no pitting or damage, it is marked 1907 WSC S294 the date mark is hard to read but it looks like 1944, it has the WD arrow, bend test and  inspection marks on the other side, the spring catch is working, it is complete with it's original leather scabbard with two steel mounts, the mounts , the leather is maker marked with the Australian makers mark MANGROVITE and date mark for 1943 on the back, the stitching on the scabbard is good, the lower steel mount has some dents on the reverse otherwise the general condition is very good.
