A scarce German Prussian Ersatz Landwehr re-issue captured French M1866 Chasspot sword bayonet, with unit issue mark of the Garde-Grenadier Landwehr regiment, a unit of the Territorial Reserve, these bayonets and rifles were captured during Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71, this one has not been modified, the clean yataghan blade is 572mm (22 1/2") with original French issue markings on the blade spine Mutzig 1869, steel guard with unit mark, ribbed brass grip, working spring catch, some pitting on the hooked quillion, the general condition is very good. No Scabbard.
